HOW IT ALL STARTED
I grew up hiking in the White Mountains, not only peak-bagging but discovering the less traveled trails. When I returned home after completing my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2013, I had a vision for an art print that not only looked beautiful on the wall but helped me discover new trails. As a constant list maker, I also wanted this map to include the trails I had already hiked. After many sketches, the "Color In Hiking Trail Map" was completed.
I put everything on hold for 6 months while my husband and I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in 2016. When I got home, inspiration to merge art and outdoor activity together was overflowing and Sherpa Ant was created.

Whenever possible you will find me outdoors and exploring the mountains. Making products that help others pursue and celebrate the outdoors combines my love of art and nature.
I live, draw and play in Massachusetts with my husband, Erich, and daughters, Sierra and Ada. I love backpacking and rock climbing and am always ready to talk trail.
I have been hiking throughout the US and have explored in Ireland, the Azores, Patagonia and Buenos Aires. My dream trips are Alaska, Banff and the Wind River Range.
SHAUNA AVALLONE

Shauna joined the team in 2019 to help with packaging and dove right in. With a background in marketing, her eye for branding and detail has made it's mark into various other aspects of the business and she played a pivotal role in our new site launch.
Most days you can find Shauna in her garden, chasing after her 2-year-old twins, or out at karaoke. She is always searching for the best sweet treat recipe and frequently brings them in to share.Make sure to say hi to Shauna in your checkout notes and let her know if you want a free sticker or two!
